This policy describes how Servers.News should handle reported errors and updates.
Report a possible error
Use our Feedback page to identify the article URL, the passage in question, the proposed correction, and supporting sources. Please distinguish a factual error from a disagreement with an assessment.
Review
Reports should be assessed against the original sources and any additional evidence. When the facts remain uncertain, the article should reflect that uncertainty. A correction request does not by itself establish that a published claim is wrong.
Material corrections
A change to a substantive fact—such as a date, amount, affected product, attribution, or conclusion—should carry a dated correction note explaining what was wrong and what has changed. Relevant headlines, summaries, and captions should also be corrected.
Minor edits and new developments
Spelling, grammar, and formatting edits that do not alter meaning may be made without a correction note. New information should be identified as an update where necessary, with the original publication date preserved and the modification date reflecting substantive changes.
Withdrawals
If the central premise of a report cannot be supported, the appropriate response may be a clearly explained withdrawal rather than a silent rewrite. Any retained page should explain the reason without repeating harmful or unsupported detail unnecessarily.
